Barcelona, Zaragoza and Expo 2008. 2008.07.12-19

Hello again :) This time I want to tell about my trip to Barcelona and Zaragoza. Me and Egle took vacation from work, packed our backpacks and left to Spain for one week. Barcelona – very nice city, probably the nicest city in Europe, after Vilnius of course :) What we visited in those 4 days and places that left biggest impression: Barri gotic and old town – must admit it was first time I saw such a nice old town, narrow streets, houses that were build in 15 century, gothic architecture and lots of legends almost with every house. Antoni Gaudi works – greatest architect of Barcelona, his most famous work The Sagrada Familia. Olympic town – remember the Olympic games of 1992? :) Dancing fountains and park Montjuïc. La rambla street – street for pedestrians, almost 2km everything for tourists. Good place to get some souvenirs. Bazaars – dozens of fresh fruits and sea food, about which Egle was so exited, and also quit cheep dried meet and sausages, which made me very happy :) Parks – park Güell, lots of Gaudi constructions and amazing few from the hill. Park de la Ciudadella – lots of water bird and a good lunch nap on the grass :) We are backpackers who like comfort and not only sight seeing, so we spend some time in the Barcelona beach. Warm water, sunny sky - rest and relaxation! Food was quit expensive, but at least vine was very cheap – from 1 till 5 euros and more. Lots of small shops, were you can get cheep and very good home made vine. I could tell more about Barcelona and its famous places and all the exiting things, but I guess photos speak better, so here they are. Also, for few days we visited our very good friend Giedre in Zaragoza, who works in Expo 2008 exhibition in Lithuania pavilion as a guide. Zaragoza is not Barcelona, but I enjoyed the city very much, it renovated some of the districts because of the Expo 2008 and it has very nice down town with colossal cathedra. Most amazing thing for me was the Expo 2008 exhibition! Around 140 pavilions, and when you enter some of them, you feel a little peace of the countries soul. I don’t regret those 10 hours on foot. Here are some photos of Expo 2008 and Zaragoza. After that, Giedre joined us back in Barcelona. We spend the rest of the time visiting sight seeing places, eating local food and enjoying always busy life of the city.

Yes, indeed - the time with Lauras and Egle in Zaragoz and Barcelona was more than perfect! You brightened my routine in Expo as well! To see it is very nice but to work here... ufff... Pretty hard. If you have a chance to be in Zaragoza, very welcome to the pavillion of Lithuania for the rain and Svyturys bear :))
